Take Back The Tech!

Client: APC WNSP
Year: 2006 to 2009
Role: Identity / Website / Print / Illustrations

Take Back The Tech! is a global online campaign that connects activism on technology with violence against women. The 16 days of activism against gender-based violence campaign calls on users of information & communications technologies (ICT), especially women and grrls, to reclaim control over technology, and in the process, to demand and realise users’ right to define, access, use and shape ICT.

It is becoming increasingly evident that internet spaces also become sites where violence against women occur. The campaign calls for a conscious thinking, utilisation and occupation of ICT and digital spaces to realise its potential to transform existing power relations, towards a vision and reality of equality.
